I’ve already extolled genre cinema on this blog several times, including fantasy and horror films.
Being an inveterate coward, my imagination keeps making me see things that do not exist in the dark.
This darkness tends to take shape in my night photographs, or even occupy a large part of the frame.
My characters are often isolated, threatened and in this case swallowed up by it.
I find that this threatening darkness fits in well with the ambience of my urban photographs of concrete constructions that depict a society in which human beings no longer have their place.
N.B : Gripped by fear is a marvellous piece of industrial music from the Belgian band Front 242, and it sounded like an obvious choice for the name of this photograph.
