Nouvel autoportrait sous la forme d'un diptyque, qui traîne dans ma tête depuis un certain temps...
L'origine de ce diptyque est une scène du superbe film Punch-Drunk-Love du réalisateur Paul Thomas Anderson.
Au début du film, le personnage principal du film (une sorte de nerd/freak solitaire) appelle une sexline dans le seul but de parler avec quelqu'un.
Arrive alors ce plan fixe particulièrement long dans lequel le personnage est assis à une table pour deux, mais on comprend qu'il n'a jamais mangé en face de quelqu'un (un côté est resté méticuleusement vide).
Cette table qui trône au milieu de son séjour est le symbole de sa profonde solitude...
Avec cette photographie, j'avais envie de réconcilier ce personnage, en le faisant manger en face de lui même (mais à deux moments de la journée), afin qu'il se sente moins seul :)
[I got the idea of this diptych self-portrait in my head for some long time.
The origin of this diptych is a scene from the beautiful movie Punch-Drunk Love from director Paul Thomas Anderson.
At one point of the movie, the main character (a sort of lonesome nerd / freak ) calls a sexline in the unique purpose of talking with someone.
Then we look at a particularly long static shot in which the character is seated at a table for two, but we understand that he never ate in front of someone (a side remains meticulously empty).
This table in his living room is the symbol of his solitude ...
With that photograph, I just wanted to reconcile this character, making him eat in front of himself (but at two different times of the day), to make him feel less alone :)]
